Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten teeth without braces. Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten teeth, without metal or wires.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

Aesthetics: Invisalign is clear so you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing.
Removable: Invisalign is removable so you can eat and drink what you want during treatment. You can also brush and floss normally to maintain good oral hygiene.
Comfort: Invisalign is comfortable. There are no metal brackets or wires.
The finished article: Invisalign allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan before you start using a clever 3D computer generated image of your mouth. You can see how your teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

Is it successful?

Yes. There are many, many people who have benefited from it worldwide. There are over 500,000 happy new Invisalign smiles.

What do the aligners look like?

They are clear and look similar to tooth-whitening trays. They are custom-made for a better fit to your teeth. Think of them as contact lenses for teeth.

How does it work?

Invisalign uses 3-D computer imaging technology to depict the complete treatment plan from the start point to the final desired position. This treatment plan is used to produce a series of custom-made, clear aligners. Each aligner moves teeth incrementally and is worn for about two weeks, then replaced by the next in the series until the final position is achieved.

What specialist training is involved?

All orthodontists and dentists interested in treating patients with Invisalign must attend specialised training. Dr Andrew Parkman has successfully carried out the Invisalign training and has many Invisalign patients.

What are the steps?

Step 1: Initial visit
During the initial visit, you can explain to us what your concerns and aims are. In light of that, Dr Andrew Parkman (BDS) will evaluate, assess and discuss the course of treatment with you. He will take bite impressions of your teeth and will send these to Invisalign for processing.

Step 2: Invisalign makes your aligners
Invisalign uses advanced 3-D computer imaging technology to transform your bite impressions into a custom-made series of clear and removable aligners.

Step 3: You receive your clear aligners in a few weeks
During your next visit, you will receive your first set of clear aligners. We will probably give you a few additional sets to wear before your next visit.

Step 4: You wear your aligners.
You’ll wear each set of clear aligners day and night for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Patients, on average, complete treatment in approximately a year. You’ll visit us at regular intervals for Dr Parkman to check your progress.

Step 5: The end result!
Congratulations! When you have finished wearing each clear aligner in the series, your treatment will be complete and you will have straighter teeth. Et voila, your perfect smile.
